30 years of KERAMOST, a.s.
KERAMOST, a.s. has been operating under this name since 1 January 1994 and has celebrated 30 years of successful operation on the domestic and foreign markets. It is a classic representative of a Czech trading company that extracts and processes high quality non-metallic minerals from its own mining sites using waste-free technologies. It has been exclusively owned by Czech owners since its inception and has successfully operated using Czech capital.
Own raw material resources
KERAMOST, a.s. has at its disposal high-quality raw material from the North Bohemian magnesium-calcium bentonite deposit from the Rokle site, where it has been intensively mined since 1985, as well as Černý vrch, Stránce and Braňany. The reserves are estimated to last another 500 years. Given the specific needs of individual areas of bentonite use, great emphasis is placed on consistently selective mining. In foreign locations, KERAMOST, a.s. is the owner of the Lutila quarry in Slovakia, which is a deposit with a high content of montmorillonite (up to 80%).
Product portfolio
Foundry bentonites are one of the pillars of the joint-stock company's production program. The Obrnice operation represents the most important producer of bentonite-based products in the Czech Republic and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. KERAMOST, a.s. currently offers 16 basic types of foundry bentonites, which can be further modified or mixed according to the customer's technological requirements.
Clumping cat litters are another key product derived from bentonite raw materials. The litters are offered both under the Benko or Mikeš brand and in private packaging of domestic and foreign chains. The product line is very variable in terms of colors, scents and granulometry.
New lines of technical bentonites find their application in the paper, drilling and construction industries. This is a new impulse for us and despite the demanding requirements of customers, we are able to meet their requirements and increase the delivered capacities.
Other raw materials that KERAMOST, a.s. offers are e.g. such as feldspar, metakaolin or bentonite desiccant. Their use is often interdisciplinary and includes various industrial or chemical applications.
Currently, annual sales of all products amount to almost CZK 700 million and annual production is an impressive 160 thousand tons. KERAMOST employs almost 200 employees in individual production facilities and the administrative building. As a manufacturer and supplier of raw materials, KERAMOST, a.s. experiences all fluctuations in the sectors in which it has customers, but with its flexibility and breadth of product range, it eliminates them and offers new solutions. The company's product portfolio ensures the stability of the company by its composition, and its sales for products and services are constantly increasing. The same can be said about exports, which account for 2/3 of the total turnover. The wide range of modern products is constantly supplemented with product innovations required by the European market and thus represents a good starting point for the future. Products and quality management systems are certified according to European standards, business plans are supported by large reserves of its own high-quality raw materials, many years of experience and the invention of competent experts. Respecting the customer's interests is taken for granted. At this moment, it is certainly possible to state that KERAMOST, a.s. ranks among the leading leaders in the European mining industry.
The 30th anniversary is an ideal opportunity to thank everyone who has accompanied KERAMOST, a.s. on its journey and without whom the recapitulation of thirty years of operation on the market would not be carried out in such an optimistic spirit. We firmly believe that the entry into the next years will be successful for us, the customers and business partners of the joint-stock company KERAMOST, a.s. It is not for nothing that the activities of this company are characterized by the motto: "...WE ARE IN FORM".
