Bentonites for drilling industry

Bentonite is a key material for the drilling industry, due to its unique properties and wide range of applications. It is mainly composed of the clay mineral montmorillonite, which gives it the ability to create stable, viscous and washing suspensions. These suspensions are used as drilling fluid, which plays a crucial role in horizontal and vertical drilling. Bentonite produced by KERAMOST, a.s. is designed to meet the requirements for durability, viscosity and safety at work, which is key for effective and successful drilling. In the modern drilling industry, emphasis is placed on environmental sustainability. Bentonite is a natural material that is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, which makes it an ideal choice.

Bentonite functions in drilling

  • When mixed with water, it quickly forms a functional homogeneous gel-like suspension.
  • Stabilization of the well by creating hydrostatic pressure - prevention of wall collapse.
  • Cooling and lubrication of drilling equipment - reduces the risk of wear and overheating.
  • Removal of drilling debris to the surface - efficient drilling process.

Packaging and shipping

  • In 25 kg bags (40 pcs per pallet) / 48 kg (21 pcs per pallet) in shrink film.
  • Loosely loaded in RAJ series tankers or in silo trucks.
  • In 1 ton big-bags.
  • Storage life is unlimited in dry environments.
