Bentonites for foundry

KERAMOST, a.s. offers a wide selection of bentonite foundry binders. Our specialty is mixed bentonites made by mixing various types of raw materials and other additives that improve the resulting parameters. Quality products in homogeneous deliveries help foundry operations reduce scrap and, thanks to the recirculation of the bentonite mixture, also reduce other operating costs. We provide customers with free consulting services and analyses of molding mixtures.

Non-activated bentonit

This group consists of dried and ground natural calcium-magnesium bentonites originating mainly from North Bohemian mining sites. They are characterized by reduced drying out, excellent disintegration after casting and rapid increase in binding strength when mixing the molding mixture.

Bentonit 75

  • It is used in foundry for the preparation of model mixtures for castings from all types of alloys with a casting time of up to 15 seconds.

Activated bentonites

These bentonites are produced from selectively mined, homogenized, gently dried and ground raw materials. Activation replaces natural calcium and magnesium ions in the crystal lattice with sodium ions, thereby achieving a significant improvement in some properties, especially the ability to bind water.

Bentonit CTM-R

  • For self-hardening binding chemically hardened mixtures with water glass and bentonite.

Sabenil

  • For all kinds of alloys.
  • Increased resistance against scab development.

Sabenil plus

  • For steel castings and uniform mixtures for wet cast of Al and Cu alloy castings.
  • Improves the liquidity of sand mixture and reduce the surface drying after de-moulding.

Keribent K

  • For all kinds of alloys, uniform and model sand mixtures.
  • Bentonite with higher thermostability.

Keribent R

  • For uniform sand mixtures, suitable for steel and iron castings.
  • Bentonite with high thermostability.

Keribent plus

  • For all kinds of alloys for uniform and model sand mixtures.
  • High thermostability, increased resistance against drying of moulds, with higher strength of mould edges.

Bentonites with carriers of lustrous carbon

This category includes hybrid activated mixed bentonites with other additives that release shiny carbon during casting. Even at higher carbon concentrations, they are not explosive or prone to spontaneous combustion.

Ekoribent

  • An ecological range of bentonite binders for all types of graphitizing alloys. Bentonite is enriched with special foundry additives while minimizing the content of ground coal.
  • Significantly reduces the exhalation of hazardous substances during casting and reduces their content in waste sand. BTEX lower by 60%, dissolved substances lower by 70%, DOC (dissolved) lower by 30%.

Sabenil C (C 20, C 25, C 30)

  • For model and uniform sand mixtures, for casting graphitizing alloys.
  • Ensures a good surface of castings.

Keribent C (C 20, C 25, C 30)

  • For model and uniform molding mixtures for casting graphitizing alloys.
  • Guarantees excellent surface of castings.

Keribent plus (plus 20, plus 25, plus 30)

  • For model and uniform molding mixtures for casting of graphitizing alloys.
  • Resistance against drying and higher strength of mould edges. It reduces formation of sand inclusion.

Sabenil K

  • For regulation of loss on ignition and LC levels in mixture of graphitizing casting alloys.
  • Higher contents of high quality carriers of lustrous carbon, it suppresses the development of spines.

Keribent K 50

  • For regulation of loss on ignition and LC levels in mixture of graphitizing casting alloys.
  • Higher thermostability and concentrated content of high quality lustrous carbon carriers.
